We recommend retesting every three months to track the development of the microbiome. If you are experiencing a medical concern, we recommend consulting with your provider immediately

What is the gut microbiome?
The human microbiome is defined as the genetic material of all microbiota that live on and inside the body. The vast majority of microbiota reside in the gut, mainly in the large intestine. Our microbiome helps us digest and metabolize food, regulates and maintains our immune system, synthesizes important vitamins in our body, and protects us against pathogens.

I forgot to activate my kit before I sent my sample to the lab. What should I do?
No worries! Send an email to info@snapihealth.com, we’ll help you from there.
Where can I find my barcode?
The barcode is located on the side of the collection tube.
How do I activate my kit?

Sample collection

How soon should I send in a sample?
The test should be sent within 2 days after collection. The test should be kept in the fridge until you’re able to send it out.
How do I check my order status?
We will provide you updates on when your sample has reached the lab, when it’s been processed, and when your results are ready through the email you provided.
When should I collect a sample?
You can collect a sample from your baby’s next bowel movement
How do I return a sample?
After you activate your kit at Snapi Health, place the sample in the return envelope provided. Simply drop off the envelope at any USPS mailbox or post office within 48 hours. The test should be kept in the fridge until you’re able to send it out.

Your results

Will antibiotics affect my results?
Yes, we suggest taking the test 1-2 months after completing the recommended dose of antibiotics.
Will the use of probiotics affect my baby’s results?
You can test your baby’s gut microbiome anytime! However, probiotics use may influence results. If probiotics are part of your baby’s normal routine, we do not suggest changing this, as you will still be able to gain insight into your baby’s gut microbiome and learn how to improve or maintain their health!
If you are considering starting your baby on a probiotic, we recommend you test your baby's gut microbiome before and during use. This way, you'll be able to monitor any changes that may occur due to the probiotic.
As always, we do recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before making any changes.
When will my results be ready?
Our lab processes the results within 2-4 weeks and results are analyzed for recommendations within 1-2 days.
