Gut microbiome for adults is a fast-growing and well-researched topic. However, there is currently a huge gap in the understanding of our infants’ gut microbiome. We’re here to change that.

With just a few tiny swabs from your baby’s dirty diaper, you can take part in an in-depth scientific study that aims to improve the health of our little ones by eliminating some of the most common diseases in babies and toddlers.

How does it work?

It’s simple! We provide you with four easy-to-use at-home gut microbiome test kits, and you send us a sample of your baby’s poop every month over the course of 8 months. Once we reach our goal, we provide you with free insights!

What does this cost?
Nothing! We cover everything from test kit, to shipping, to sequencing of the samples collected (this normally cost $100+ for each sample).
When will I receive my results?
Once we reach our goal of 5,000 samples collected, we will begin processing the samples. You will receive test results after the project is completed in August 2023. Sharing with friends can help us reach our goal even quicker 🙂
Can I just send you the dirty diapers?
Unfortunately, we only take stool samples sent using our collection kit. Our easy-to-use kit is designed to keep the microbial community stable during the transport process. The process of collecting the sample only takes a few seconds!
Who can donate?
We are looking for parents with children under 5 years old living in the US.
What is your privacy policy?
We will not leverage any of your personal information, including your name, results, or address. We only use your information for shipping and emails.
How will my baby’s poop be useful?
Our goal is to identify bacteria that are associated with health conditions such as common allergies, eczema, colic, constipation, and other common infant health conditions. Our scientists will use this information to monitor, treat, and prevent certain health conditions related to the gut microbiome, and help create more affordable tests.
I have two babies. How can I get two or more test kit boxes?
You must place two separate orders.
I'm not sure if I can take the test every month. Can I still partake?
Yes! You have until August 2023 to complete four tests. We ask that you complete one test every month for more accurate results, but if you do not have the opportunity, it's okay - any participation will be useful for the results of the project.
